Maintain Continuous Compliance through Reaccreditation

Once you are accredited, it is essential to maintain it as part of your organization’s ongoing performance improvement. JCI requires accredited organizations to become reaccredited every three years. However, once the initial accreditation is complete, the foundation is set and reaccreditation is a much simpler process.

Here are the first recommended steps in your reaccreditation journey:

  1. Make sure you have the most recent standards. Check JCI Direct Connect for the most recent accreditation manual and survey process guide.

  2. Measure where your level of compliance is now. Have you continued compliance in your strongest areas as evaluated in your most recent survey? Have you improved in areas where improvement was warranted? As you did before your previous survey, did you run mock surveys or other similar exercises to measure your current levels of compliance? (JCI experts can do this, or someone else can).

  3. Complete your E-App. JCI will tell you when to expect your next survey, but you can keep your application up to date at any time in JCI’s E-App. Keeping your information current in E-App is a great way to eliminate deadline pressure as you get closer to your application time.
