Dr. Astolfo Franco had served as a general and laparoscopic surgeon for over 21 years at Centro Medico Imbanaco, Cali, Colombia, immediately he finished his residency program in general and laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Franco is a specialist on laparoscopic and general surgery. In 2000, after he graduated as Healthcare administration specialist and MBA, he was the clinical manager until 2006 and then patient safety officer until now. Over the last 15 years he has been doing both activities (clinical and administrative) simultaneously. 
Dr. Franco is a recognized Latin American expert on performance improvement and safe practices at clinical facilities. He is also an expert in analysis for evaluating patient care processes, personnel systems, and organizational structures.
