CEO Speaks at the Presentation of Mexico’s National Quality Award

Paula Wilson, President and CEO of JCI

On Wednesday, March 11, Joint Commission Resources (JCR) and Joint Commission International (JCI) Chief Executive Officer, Paula Wilson, spoke at the presentation of Mexico’s National Quality Award to Baxter Mexico.

Mexico’s National Quality Award “promotes competitiveness, innovation, adaptation and social responsibility among organizations, by the development of their capacity to generate intellectual capital, value and quality of life.”

This is the highest quality award in Mexico and is presented annually by the Institute for the Promotion of Total Quality on behalf of the Mexican Ministry of Economy.JCI’s mission to improve the safety and quality of care in the international community through international accreditation and certification, advisory services, publications and education programs is complementary to this prestigious award.

Baxter invited Wilson to discuss JCI’s vision of quality in health care systems at the award ceremony. In addition to presenting a brief history of JCI, Wilson also covered the traits of a High Reliability Organization, the traits of a successful leader, and strategies for achieving a culture of safety.
