Jean Courtney Appointed Interim President & CEO of Joint Commission International

After 11 years of service Paula Wilson, President & CEO, will be leaving Joint Commission Resources, Inc. (JCR) and Joint Commission International (JCI) on July 2, 2021 to pursue new endeavors. Wilson has been an extraordinary leader who has worked to improve health care quality and patient safety in over 70 countries around the world. Wilson led health care improvement globally through a range of accreditation, consulting and education services, as well as online compliance tools.

Jean Courtney will serve as the interim President & CEO. Jean has over 30 years of health care financial and operational management experience and currently serves as Chief Operating Officer for JCR and JCI. In this role, Courtney is responsible for the establishment of strategic plans and day-to-day oversight and coordination of the following corporate functions: Corporate Strategy, Business Development, Operations, Quality Improvement, Account Management, Product Fulfillment, Customer Support and Strategic Relationships.

Courtney previously served as Deputy Executive Officer, Chief of Staff, and Chief Financial Officer for JCR and JCI. In addition, she worked as a Senior Manager in health care consulting for Ernst & Young in Chicago, Illinois; as a Finance Projects Manager and Senior Internal Auditor for Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan; and as a Staff Accountant for Parnell Kerr Foster, Certified Public Accountants in Detroit, Michigan.
