Joint Commission International To Host First-ever Accreditation Update in South America

Added on 28 August 2017 in Press Releases
(OAK BROOK, Illinois, USA – 24 August 2017) – Joint Commission International (JCI) will host an Accreditation Update for JCI-accredited hospitals and academic medical centers, 23-24 October, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The two-day educational event will feature JCI faculty-led sessions on the new 6th edition hospital standards and includes simultaneous presentations in English, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish. In South America, 50 hospitals and academic medical centers have been accredited by JCI.

The Accreditation Update includes presentations on new JCI requirements as well as small-group work sessions to give attendees an opportunity to discuss and better understand these new JCI requirements, as well as gauge their compliance with the new requirements through discussion with JCI faculty and fellow attendees.
JCI’s Accreditation Standards for Hospitals, 6th edition, went into effect 1 July 2017.
“JCI’s standards reflect the systems and processes needed to deliver safe, high-quality care. I urge leaders from accredited organizations to attend the Accreditation Update to gain the tools and resources needed to tackle the challenges they face in today’s fast-paced and complex health care environment,” said Dr. Paul Chang, Vice President, Accreditation, Standards, and Measurement, JCI.
Attendees also receive a valuable supply of practical JCI publications, including the JCI hospital standards and survey process guide, white papers on subjects related to JCI accreditation, and clinical practice toolkits.
