Dr. Paul Chang Promoted to Senior Executive Director, JCI Accreditation and Standards
Dr. Paul Chang, Senior Executiev Director
Joint Commission International is pleased to announce the promotion of Paul Chang, MBBS, MBA, MPH, CPHQ, FACHE, to Senior Executive Director, Accreditation and Standards, effective 1 July 2013. Dr. Chang has served as JCI's Asia-Pacific office Managing Director since 2007 and is now in the Oak Brook, Illinois, USA headquarters.
While in the Asia-Pacific region, Dr. Chang collaborated with regional ministries of health, governmental and nongovernmental agencies, hospitals, laboratories, and various health care organizations to develop ways to improve health outcomes and patient safety. In prior positions, he oversaw clinical quality, risk management, quality improvement, and JCI accreditation in Changi General Hospital in Singapore and served in a variety of roles in the Singapore Ministry of Health.
Dr. Chang earned his medical degree and a Master of Public Health from the National University of Singapore and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He is a trained surveyor for both JCI accreditation and International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua).
He is working closely with Paul vanOstenberg, JCI's Vice President of International Accreditation, Standards, and Measurement, and other senior officers to serve health care organizations throughout the world.
