Joint Commission International (JCI) requirements—particularly International Patient Safety Goal 6—call for organizations to reduce the risk of patient harm resulting from falls.  As part of an ongoing series of initiatives to better educate its patients on critical safety issues, Bon Secours Hospital Cork, Ireland is distributing an educational Falls Prevention Video to patients via digital media. The hospital’s cross-departmental Fall Working Group produced the video in-house.

Bon Secours Cork, a 3-time JCI-accredited organization, is distributing its video via its public website and its in-house video “channel,” which is available in patient rooms and in public areas throughout the hospital.
