Background


  • 35 years of experience in health care, including expertise in physician relations, patient safety, quality indicators, credentialing, privileging and peer review
  • Broad leadership experience in a number of large health care systems and academic institutions
  • Senior vice president and VPMA of a large independent children's hospital and associate dean of a medical school
  • Responsibilities have included medical director of pediatrics in a large rural integrated health system, a physician director of the practice plan in an academic medical center, clinical director of pediatrics in a large integrated 26-hospital system, and a practicing pediatrician and neonatologist in a number of academic medical centers
Dr. Richard Molteni's leadership roles have prepared him to effectively evaluate and consult in the areas of operational assessment; patient safety assessment; executive leadership; medical staff leadership; incorporating tracer methodology and the periodic performance review as management tools; credentialing; privileging; and peer review issues.
Dr. Molteni has also worked internationally for many years for Project Hope, including Eastern Europe, Central America, and China. He has also developed academic exchange programs with medical schools and residency programs in a number of those countries. Dr. Molteni has consulted in the Middle East, Europe, and Asia.
