5th Edition Hospital Publications Update
Joint Commission International (JCI) is pleased to announce the following news regarding its 5th edition hospital standards and survey process guide:
The 5th Edition Survey Process Guide E-Book Published; Standards Available in Print and E-Book Formats
Essential resources for organizations seeking their next—or first—accreditation, Joint Commission International Accreditation Standards for Hospitals, 5th Edition and Joint Commission International Accreditation Hospital Survey Process Guide, 5th Edition, are now available for purchase (for hospitals new to JCI) or download (for currently accredited hospitals and hospitals with scheduled surveys).

For currently accredited organizations or organizations with upcoming surveys already scheduled with JCI, download the e-book versions of the new manual and survey process guide from JCI Direct Connect. Note: This link will direct you to the login page of JCI Direct Connect. Once you are in the site, go to the Survey tab, and download the 5th edition manual and survey process guide from the Preparing for Surveys box. If you do not know your JCI Direct Connect login and password, you will find directions below in the section If You Do Not Have Your User Name and Password.

CEOs and survey coordinators who misplaced their user name and password information can get access to JCI Direct Connect by taking the following steps:
Go to JCI Direct Connect at
In the Help Center on the left side of the page, click on Forgot Password.
In the next window, you will be asked to type in your user name. Your user name is the email address you provided to JCI.
After typing in your user name, retype the characters (in the picture in the box below the picture) and click the Request Password Reset button.
You will receive an email telling you that your password has been reset and giving directions on how to set a new password.
