For more than 30 years Enrico Baldantoni has channeled his fascination of the human mind and body into various areas in the health care arena including general health, public health and hospital management.
His consulting expertise includes accreditation preparation, patient safety, and quality management. He has extensive experience with
medical management, leadership development, physician-administration relationships, process improvement, technology assessment, patient safety and risk management.
Dr. Baldantoni is actively involved in development of activities of Joint Commission International in the Italian market and has provided international consulting services to organizations in Italy and abroad, such as Germany and Egypt.
Dr. Baldantoni currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the Hospital of Trento-Italy where he led his organization through a successful Joint Commission International Accreditation survey. He has also served as the CMO of
Cittadella Hospital-Italy and
Chioggia Hospital
and was the Director of Health Services at
Local Health Unit n. 14, Chioggia-Italy
and
Local Health Unit n. 20, Verona-Italy. He was also the Director of the Department of Prevention, Local Health Unit n. 14 Chioggia, Director of Hygiene of Food and Nutrition Service, Local Health Unit n. 15 Cittadella, Director of Public Hygiene Service, Local Health Unit n. 19 Cittadella, and General Practitioner and Community Physician, Local Health Unit n. 19 Cittadella.
If there is one thing Dr. Baldantoni hopes for the hospitals of the future, it is that there is “a partnership between patients and staff, with no economic interests directly involved.”
Dr. Baldantoni received his master’s degrees in health economics at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” -
Italy School of Medicine, bioethics at the
University of Padova-Italy, and health care management at the University of Trento-Italy; he received his doctor of medicine at the University of Padova-Italy School of Medicine. He also has a postgraduate’s specialty in
hospital administration, legal and insurance medicine, from the University of Ferrara-Italy School of Medicine.
Dr. Baldantoni’s affiliations include serving as the president
of the Veneto Region Section at the Italian Society for Quality in Health Care-V.R.Q and International Society for Quality in Health Care – ISQUA. He also is
fluent in English and Italian.
