Nellie Yeo, MBA, MN

Nellie Yeo has spent more than 25 years in health care specializing in quality and patient safety. The chance to make a difference for patients and the opportunity to make the health care system safer for both patients and health care workers has driven her successful efforts.

 

In her current position, as both the chief quality officer of the National Healthcare Group (NHG) and executive director of NHG College, Ms. Yeo assumes overall responsibility for establishing, developing, implementing and evaluating the NHG quality and clinical governance framework, the corporate strategic quality plan for the Group as well as the provision of continuing professional learning for medical, nursing and allied health care staff. 

 

Ms. Yeo also provides education and has presented numerous times for JCI.  She has consulted internationally in Asia, Europe and the Middle East in acute care.                       

 

Ms. Yeo’s other experience includes serving on the Ministry of Health, NHG and National University Hospital Committees. She is a member of the Certified Professional of Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), the National Association of Healthcare Quality Certification Board (USA) and the International Society for Quality.

Ms. Yeo believes a hospital of the future would have “zero needless waiting time, zero needless pain, zero preventable adverse events, and zero staff and patient dissatisfaction.  These are the True Norths of a hospital of the future.”

Ms. Yeo graduated with a master’s of business administration in business law from Nanyang Technical University in Singapore and a bachelor’s of science in nursing from Pacific Union College, in Angwin, California. She is also a Joint Commission-certified Yellow Belt.
