Mr. Shea has more than 29 years experience in health care, with both clinical and administrative experience in organization design, communication strategies, team building and process design and improvement. In his current position he has prepared and coordinated the organization for hospital, ambulatory care, outpatient behavioral health and laboratory accreditation and CMS surveys.

 

Mr. Shea’s experience has been in numerous health care settings including not-for-profit hospitals, long term/sub-acute hospital, governmental, safety net and Federally Qualified Health Centers. He has served as Assistant Vice President of Nursing in children’s hospitals with peri-operative and critical care responsibilities, and Director of Nursing for a large, multi-site ambulatory care program.

 

Mr. Shea currently works for a vertically integrated safety net health care system that includes hospital, primary care, specialty ambulatory care, trauma and EMS services. His role is to provide internal consulting addressing regulatory issues, as well as improvement of clinical and system processes. He has received specialized training in applying “Lean” concepts in health care settings.

 

Mr. Shea received his bachelor’s of science in nursing from the University of Colorado, Health Science Center-Denver, and his master’s of public administration from the Graduate School of Public Affairs, University of Colorado-Denver. He is also a Joint Commission-certified Yellow Belt.
