Rosanne Passeri Farrell has more than 35 years of experience in health care and brings a proven track record of accomplishment to her roles as a leader in nursing and health care management operations and as a performance improvement specialist for Joint Commission Resources, Inc. (JCR).
As a senior consultant, Ms. Passeri Farrell brings educational and technical assistance to health care organizations in the areas of accreditation and regulatory affairs, quality systems implementation, and achieving goals through organizational excellence. She actively works with health care organizations to develop approaches to effective oversight and management systems, especially in the areas of patient safety, National Patient Safety Goals, infection control, and performance improvement. She consults both domestically and internationally and serves as a faculty member for JCR’s department of education. She has consulted in Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas.
Ms. Passeri Farrell’s consulting expertise includes development of quality/performance improvement systems; evaluation of medication management processes; use of data to measure performance; medical error reduction; implementation of infection control practices; quality/performance improvement assistance; facilitator and team building skills development; nursing leadership education; and standards and survey process education and preparation.
Ms. Passeri Farrell’s hands-on clinical experience includes working in ambulatory care, home care, nursing management, acute care, medical and surgical nursing, and intensive care settings. Before joining JCR, she served as vice president of quality management at St. Vincent's Hospital and MedicalCenter in New York, New York. In this capacity, she was administratively responsible for regulatory affairs, performance improvement, infection control, utilization and resource management, and medical staff affairs. She also served as administrator of quality assurance at StateUniversityHospital, HealthScienceCenter in Brooklyn, New York, and as quality assurance coordinator at Staten Island Hospital, New York.
Ms. Passeri Farrell received her nursing degree from St. Mary’s in Brooklyn, her bachelor’s of science in nursing from Seton Hall University, South Orange, New Jersey; her bachelor’s of science in health care administration from St. FrancisCollege, Brooklyn, New York; and her master’s of science in public administration from RussellSageCollege, Albany, New York.
Her professional affiliations include AmericanCollege of Healthcare Executives, National Association of Healthcare Quality Professionals, New York Association of Healthcare Quality Professionals, and Sigma Theta Tau International. She is a diplomate in the AmericanCollege of Healthcare Executives; is certified by the American Board of Utilization Review/Quality Assurance Physicians, Inc.; is a Certified Professional of Healthcare Quality; and is an examiner for the New York State Quality Award, “The Empire State Advantage.” She is also a Joint Commission-certified Yellow Belt.
