
Chinhak Chun , MD

Chinhak Chun has more than 20 years of experience in health care and specializes in risk management in an acute patient care setting, health care–associated infections, and infection and environmental control. He currently serves as the vice-chairman of internal medicine and chief of infectious diseases at Metro West Medical Center in Framingham/Natick, Massachusetts.
Dr. Chun chairs the Infection Control Committee and leads the surveillance and policy implementation on the management of multidrug-resistant organisms, central line-associated blood stream infection and antibiotic stewardship. He is also a physician leader of the Sharps Committee, which oversees all aspects of injuries to the health care workers due to unsafe medical equipment, and is a physician champion in patient centered care, patient experience, and a number of Lean projects at his hospital. He also authors a Web site and blog on patient safety. He is a JCR certified yellow belt in Robust Process Improvement.
Dr. Chun received his doctor of medicine degree from Yonsei University’s School of Medicine in Seoul, South Korea and is board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases (American Board of Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases). Dr. Chun is also assistant clinical professor at Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. He is also a Joint Commission-certified Yellow Belt.
