Helen Hoesing, RN, MPH, PhD

Dr. Hoesing has more than 40 years of experience in health care and administration, and she brings demonstrated expertise as a nursing executive and performance improvement specialist to her role as a consultant for Joint Commission Resources, Inc. Dr. Hoesing served as Vice President for Nebraska Methodist Health System and prior to that, she served as Vice President at Nebraska Methodist Hospital, an acute care facility in Omaha, Nebraska.
As a consultant and clinical faculty member for the Joint Commission for the past 35 years, she has developed programs for health care quality improvement and nursing standards seminars in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. She also consults with hospitals and health care organizations on diagnosis of organizational issues and implementation of change strategies both in the United States and abroad.
Dr. Hoesing’s consulting expertise includes performance improvement; work and process redesign; leadership education and skill building; team building and facilitating; standards and survey process education; operational assessment; patient safety assessment; and incorporating tracer methodology and the periodic performance review as management tools.
She received her Nursing diploma from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing; her Bachelor’s of Science from University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota; her Master’s of Public Health from University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota; and her Doctorate in Management/Administration from Walden University. She also has her Certification in Nursing Administration, Advanced from the American Nurses Association. She is also a Joint Commission-certified Yellow Belt.
