May Al-Khunaizi currently serves as the executive director and head of the department of neonatology at Saad Specialist Hospital in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. In this position her responsibilities include directing and coordinating day-to-day operations and developing, implementing, maintaining and monitoring the systems and programs required to provide high quality care.

As the head of the neonatology department, she supervised the continuing education programs of the department, supervised the delivery of a comprehensive, effective and efficient clinical service within best practice standards in a multidisciplinary approach and directed regular clinical audits and supervised mortality/morbidity reviews. She has also served as dean of Saad Nursing College and Allied Health Sciences, where she assisted in the recruitment, selection and training of faculty; monitored and assessed that teaching standards were maintained within the college; and took corrective action when necessary. Dr. Al-Khunaizi also held the position of senior deputy director of Saad Specialist Hospital, where she was responsible for maintaining high quality health care in compliance with industry standards and successful business operation, providing executive direction for the operation of the hospital and its associated facilities and representing the executive director in day-to-day operations.

Dr. Al-Khunaizi graduated with an MBBS, with honors, from King Faisal University College of Medicine and Medical Sciences in Dammam, Saudi Arabia and is currently licensed to practice neonatology and pediatrics in Saudi Arabia and neonatology in Massachusetts.
