Dr. Paul Chang, MBBS, MPH, CPHQ

Managing Director, Asia Pacific Office
Dr. Paul Chang is Managing Director of Joint Commission International's Asia Pacific Office. In this capacity, he is responsible for furthering the development of relationships between JCI and Asia-Pacific health care organizations and works with regional Ministries of Health, other governmental agencies, NGOs, hospitals, laboratories and other health care organizations in their efforts to reduce risk and improve health outcomes.
Prior to this, Dr. Chang was overseeing clinical quality, risk management, quality improvement and JCI accreditation in Changi General Hospital, an 800 bed Singaporean public hospital, and was part of the management team that led the hospital to achieve JCI accreditation in June 2005 as well as JCI Disease specific certification in 2 Cardiology programs – Acute Myocardial Infarct management and Heart Failure Management - in January 2007. Dr. Chang also has working experience in both the Singapore Ministry of Health and in various Singapore hospitals. Dr. Chang earned his medical degree and his Masters in Public Health from the National University of Singapore. He is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality and is also a trained JCI accreditation surveyor.
