Accreditation for Ambulatory Care

The JCI Accreditation Standards for Ambulatory Care are designed to evaluate the quality and safety of all clinical and managerial functions for the ambulatory care setting.

The standards are applicable to a variety of ambulatory organizations, including:

  • Free-standing medical, dental and surgical facilities
  • Dialysis facilities
  • Diagnostic radiology centers
  • Outpatient chronic care management facilities
  • Acute care centers

The ambulatory care standards also address the International Patient Safety Goals, new accreditation decision rules, and revised policies.
