Carlo Ramponi Presents to Brazilian Conference on “Surgical Safety: A Global Perspective”

Carlo Ramponi, MD, MBA, Managing Director, European International Office, Joint Commission International, presented on the topic of surgical safety to a Brazilian consortium via video conference on 10 December 2008. Dr. Ramponi presented to a group including representatives of Hospital Sírio-Libanês and Consórcio Brasileiro de Acreditação (CBA), Joint Commission International’s accreditation partner in Brazil.

Other subjects covered at the conference included the following:

     • Brazil’s Compliance with the International Safe Surgery Campaign
     • International Safe Surgery Goals – The Vision of the Surgeon
     • Implementation strategies, practices, and indicators/results of the Safe Surgery Initiative
