Singapore Practicum an Overwhelming Success

The Joint Commission International (JCI) Practicum on Quality Improvement and Accreditation attracted an unprecedented audience of 130 participants from 12 countries to Singapore, 13 to 17 April 2009.

The content of the program focused on the JCI process, strategies for improvement, and practices for standards compliance.  Educational methods emphasized participant involvement, small group work, and practical skills.

"Once again, the JCI Practicum received a very warm and enthusiastic response from Singapore and the entire Asia Pacific region,” says Matt Spurgeon, associate director, International Services, JCI. “We are continually heartened to meet so many individuals who are committed to improving patient safety practices in their organization, and are pleased that the Practicum and the accreditation strategies it covers can be helpful to them as they work to meet their quality goals."
