JCI Primary Care Accreditation Primer

Joint Commission International’s (JCI’s) Primary Care Accreditation program recognizes the important role of primary care centers in developed and developing countries, in rural and urban settings, and with both public and private ownership and operation.  The standards, first published in 2008, focus on community integration, health promotion and disease prevention, first contact medical services, and linkages to other part of the health care delivery system.  These standards are a valuable guide to individual primary care organizations as well as to public health agencies.
