Joint Commission International and ISQua
The International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua) is a non-profit, independent organization whose mission is to improve the quality and safety of health care worldwide. ISQua’s International Accreditation Program (IAP) is the only program that “accredits the accreditors” and provides worldwide recognition for accredited organizations that meet approved international standards. Joint Commission International has participated in the IAP since 2005.
In June 2011, JCI completed an on-site re-evaluation by the ISQua survey team. The JCI accreditation program, the sets of standards for eight JCI Accreditation Programs and the JCI Surveyor Training Program have been granted four-year accreditation by ISQua. No other accreditation program in the World has as many sets of standards accredited by ISQua as JCI. This highly esteemed honor reinforces that JCI standards meet the highest international benchmark.
