Joint Commission International, at present, has two international partners for the purpose of offering both a national and international accreditation award at the same time. The Fundación Avedis Donabedian (FAD) is the accreditation partner for Spain, and The Consortium for Brazilian Accreditation (CBA) is the accreditation partner in Brazil. These partners use the same standards, survey process and accreditation decision rules as JCI and the accreditation decisions are jointly decided. These partners are however, able to provide accreditation surveys and support accredited organizations with surveyors and staff that understand the respective national health care system, and bring greater language and cultural relevance to the accreditation process.
